University of California, May 2, 1968. — 41 p.A relatively simple pressure, volume, energy (PVE) equation of state has been developed to describe the adiabatic expansion of detonation products. Specific equations for ten explosives have been determined using detonation velocity and pressure data and results from metal acceleration experiments. The thermodynamic and hydrodynamic requirements placed upon this equation of state are discussed and a comparison of calculation and experimental results are presented.
