For some time already I have been of an opinion that in Finno-Ugric languages there are no traces of a Common Finno-Ugric (Uralic) accusative suffix *-m that can be interpreted as unique. In a few Lapp (Saami) dialects there is an accusative with the suffix (*)-m, in Mari – with the suffix -m and in a few Mansi dialects – with the suffix -m(V) but the origin of those accusatives can more likely have other explanations than their descent from the Common Finno-Ugric (Uralic) accusative suffix *-m. On the other hand, in Samoyed languages there undoubtedly is the Common Samoyed accusative with the suffix (*)-m.
