God is not power which displays itself in the world; he is in the world incognito. He both gives glimpses of himself in the world and at the same time hides himself. It is in human freedom rather than in necessity or in the coercion of man, or in causative determinism, that he reveals himself. God determines nothing and governs nothing. The emanation of what is known as the grace of God is the freedom of man. God is Mystery, God is the Truth of the world and the Freedom of the world, he is not the world itself nor is he government within it. One can say that God is Love and Freedom because such conceptions are derived from the highest spiritual experience of man and not from experience of the world of nature and society.
