This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Second International Conference on Grid and Pervasive Computing, GPC 2007, held in Paris, France in May 2007.
The 56 revised full papers and 12 revised short papers were carefully selected from 217 submissions during two rounds of reviewing and improvement. The papers address all aspects of grid and pervasive computing and focus on topics such as cluster computing, high performance computing, grid computing, semantic Web and semantic grid, service-oriented computing, peer-to-peer computing, pervasive computing, mobile computing, network storage, as well as grid and pervasive related applications.
GPC 2007 provided a high-profile, leading-edge forum for researchers and developersfrom industry and academia to report on the latest scientific and technicaladvances, discuss and debate the major issues, and showcase the latest systemsin merging grid computing and the pervasive computing field. This year, a total of 217 high-quality papers were submitted by researchersand practitioners from about 20 countries. All the submissions were rigorouslyreviewed by the Program Committee members. To ensure fairness and the qualityof the papers, we put a number of measures in place. For example, each paperwas assigned at least one reviewer from Australia, one reviewer from America, and one reviewer from Europe. Based on the originality, significance, correctness, relevance, and clarity of presentation, 56 submissions were selected as regularpapers and 12 were selected as short papers. The acceptation rate is 32%. Also, the authors of accepted papers were required to submit a read-me file along withthe camera-ready version of their paper explaining how the reviewers commentswere taken into account in the final version of their paper.
