Rethinking Colonial Histories: New and Alternative Approaches' displays a wide variety of approaches to the task of writing colonial history, showcasing the strength of this field of study in the History Department at the University of Melbourne. The chapters in this volume are principally drawn from a successful one-day symposium involving postgraduate students and staff held on 1 October 2004.
