Online Library TheLib.net » Into TA: A Comprehensive Textbook on Transactional Analysis
Transactional Analysis (TA) has continued to grow and develop ever since its inception by the Canadian-American psychiatrist Dr. Eric Berne over a half century ago. It has proven itself to be an extremely useful model for human relations professionals working in a variety of contexts and fields, such as psychotherapy, coaching and counselling, management and organizational development, or parenting and education. TA combines a highly accessible theory on the development of people and systems with a highly practical approach, centered on the possibilities of change, growth and development.

Into TA consists of two parts. Part One comprises ten chapters which each open with a presentation of basic TA theory within the contexts of clinical, consultative and educational activities. Each chapter then discusses contemporary developments in theory and practice, specialized applications, and critical reflections. Every chapter ends with an insight into relationship to other trends: TA concepts are discussed in relation to other theories from psychotherapy, counselling, organizational development and education. In Part Two, TA professionals from all over the globe discuss the application of TA within their specific areas of human relations work: psychotherapy, counselling, coaching, organizational development, and training and education.

This book is for anyone who wants to further deal with the theory and practice of TA knowledge. The book also provides a lot of information for professionals who already use TA. Because of the many examples and the layering of each chapter both beginners and experienced professionals will find much of interest and use in this textbook.
