Emmanuel Farjoun, born in 1944, is a professor of mathematics at
the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Moshe Machover was born in 1936. He has taught mathematics in
the Universities of Jerusalem and Bristol. He is now a Reader in
Mathematical Logic in the Department of History and Philosophy
of Science at Chelsea College, London University.
Both authors were born in Palestine, are activists of the Socialist
Organization in Israel (MATZPEN) and are editors of Khamsin, the
socialist journal of Middle Eastern studies.
