This dissertation presents the result of an exhaustive search for documents attached to the intellectual trajectory of Edgard Cavalheiro (1911-1958), brazilian writer who published "Monteiro Lobato: vida e obra" (1955) and created the Jabuti literary prize. Edgard Cavalheiro left an extensive bibliographic production in books, separate offprints and spread periodic articles. It was tried, too, to reunite author's active and passive correspondence and to index preserved manuscripts in his archive, guarded by his inheritors. Having Edgard Cavalheiro a remarkable biographic production, the dissertation brings an assembly of his thinking production about the theme.
