Ferromagnetic metals and alloys have been the principal subject of my work for the past twelve years. Until lately the literature dealing with this field of science and technology was scattered over many publications in various languages, and I have continuously felt the need for a comprehensive but concise account of the recent theories and experimental results connected with this subject. Consequently, I welcomed the suggestion by the editors to write this book.
