An in-depth study of the Late Minoan IA cross-draft kiln found during excavations at Kommos on Crete. The kiln is of a type that was popular during the Neopalatial period, and its good state of preservation has allowed the authors to speculate about its original internal layout and use, as well as the roof that covered it. The large quantity of locally produced pottery found in association with the kiln is analysed, allowing a detailed study of the shapes, decoration, and technical characteristics of vases fired in a LM IA kiln.
